As part of the CARES Act the Town of Leesburg has initiated a grant program for small businesses operating in the town to assist with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The grants are available to licensed, for-profit businesses operating in the town limits who started before March 20, 2020. There are two levels of grant; a $2,500 grant for companies with revenue between $25,000 and $100,000, or a $5,000 grant for companies with revenue between $100,001 and $1,000,000. Companies will apply online and eligible businesses will be included in a random drawing for 200 grants at the $2,500 level and 505 grants at the $5,000 level.

If a business received a grant through the Loudoun County Business Interruption Fund grant program they are allowed to apply, but they will not be included in the initial drawing. Once all grants to companies that did not get BIF grants are awarded, if there is still funding available, there will be a second drawing that includes all other eligible companies for remaining grant funding.

You will need to have specific information ready before you begin the application: a valid Leesburg Business ID number and BPOL licence number, company contact information, gross revenue information for 2019 and 2020 (YTD) including specific revenue numbers for Q2 for both years (April – June), basic expense figures for eligible expenses (payroll, rent, utilities, etc.), as well as figures for any PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) funds you used for payroll (if you participated in the PPP).
